UTS: Shopfront is a gateway for the community to access UTS knowledge, skills, resources and professional expertise in order to conduct community-initiated and engaged projects which provide real social benefit.

Engineers without borders
Engineers without borders works in partnership with developing communities both within Australia and overseas, assisting them to gain access to the knowledge, resources and appropriate technologies they need to improve their livelihoods. Many UTS: Engineering students are involved with the program.

UTS Motorsports
UTS Motorsports was established in 1999 and represents UTS in the Formula SAE Australasia competition. Every year, the team design and build a small formula-style racing car which ultimately competes in the Formula SAE Competition. There is a wide variety of tasks to work on including suspension, chassis, engine brakes and more.
Since 1999, UTS Motorsports has competed six times in 2001, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2010 & 2011. They will also compete in 2012.
The team consists of about 15 students who study at UTS, from the various disciplines of engineering as well as business and even nursing. Run as a professional race team UTS Motorsports is sponsored by several companies in the industry which aid them in this endeavour. Furthermore, the team is supported by several academics and university consultants that assist the students with issues they may encounter.

Australian Engineering Week
Australian Engineering Week is run to celebrate engineering, raise awareness of its contributions to society, and position engineering as the career path of choice.
UTS: Engineering sponsors events that take place around NSW during Australian Engineering Week.
National ICT Careers Week
National ICT Careers Week is hosted by the Australian Computer Society (ACS) and the Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) and was initiated to showcase the many and varies career opportunities available to young people in information communication and technology (ICT).
