Casual teaching positions

Are you interested in joining an approved pool of applicants from which Subject Coordinators choose suitably qualified and experienced engineering and IT professionals and academics as casual lecturers and tutors?

Subject available are in the areas of:

  • Civil and Environmental Engineering;
  • Computing and Communications;
  • Electrical, Mechanical and Mechatronic Systems;
  • Software; and
  • Systems, Management and Leadership subjects.

Lecturers and tutors may be required for undergraduate, postgraduate and short courses. The work may involve lecturing or tutoring one or more groups of students for a semester (approximately 13 weeks, day or evening); or lecturing or tutoring in intensive mode (full days 9 to 5, weekday or weekend).

Please note that UTS policy states that casual teaching staff can only be employed for a maximum of 9 hours per week (less if you have visa restrictions).

Flexible appointments to meet your availability may be negotiated.

Note: Registrations details need to be updated each teaching semester you are available.

These details will be assessed by the relevant academic staff and you will be notified of the outcome of your application.

If your application is successful you will be included on the eligibility list and you may be called for an interview if a suitable position becomes available.
